Dr. M. Ricketts (1920-2003) was Director of the American Institute for Bioprogressive Education in Scottsdale, Arizona.
◎ Education: Graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Dentistry, 1945. Navy Dental Corps, 1945 ‒ 1947.
University of Illinois Graduate School, 1947 ‒ 1952, M.S. 1950. Instructor in Orthodontics, 1948 ‒ 1952.
◎ Honours: Second prize, American Association in Oral Surgery, 1974. Recipient of the Albert H. Ketcham Award from American Association of Orthodontics, 1975; John Mershon Lecture, 1976; Associated Journals Europe Award, 1983; Hinman Award.
◎1952 ‒ 1987 orthodontic practice in Pacific Palisades California.
◎ Main interests were growth, morphological structural variation of the face and jaws, arthritis of the jaw joint, cleft palate diagnosis and treatment from surgical, orthopedic, and prosthetic standpoints, mechanics in orthodontics. Helped develop several contemporary mechanisms in equipment now used internationally in orthodontics. Has conducted computer research since 1964; helped found Rocky Mountain Data Systems. Conducted several educational seminars yearly. Founded the American Institute for Bioprogressive Education, 1981.

◎ 1957 – 65 Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Dentistry, UCLA.
◎ 1971 ‒ Clinical Professor of Occlusion, University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Professor of Orthodontics, Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.
◎ 1987 Dr. Ricketts moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, to complete research for and writing of “Provocations and Perceptions in Cranio-Facial Orthopedics (1989)”, “The Reappearing American (1993)”, in which he entrusted his dream to the next young generations not only for the specialists but also for others.
